Commissioned by the BAAK construction consortium, Fiberstruct has supplied specially designed closed top layer gratings (HLU) for the escape routes of both the Maasdeltatunnel and the Hollandtunnel near Vlaardingen, Rotterdam.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The closed top layer GRP gratings are produced by using an open GRP grating combined with a solid laminated fiber plate. This fiber plate varies in thickness from 3 to 5 mm and comes standard with an anti-slip coating. This type of GRP panel is highly suitable for various applications, including walkways, platforms, decks, and bridge surfaces.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n \n

The glassfiber reinforced plastic gratings meet the fire safety requirements in accordance with the European standard EN 13501-1.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In addition to their fire-resistant properties, the gratings are finished in a striking fluorescent yellow, ensuring enhanced visibility and safety, especially in low-light conditions.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This contributes to safer use of the tunnels in the event of an emergency.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n \n

Commissioned by Rijkswaterstaat, the BAAK consortium completed the Blankenburg Connection. Both the Maasdeltatunnel and the Hollandtunnel are part of this connection, which links the A20 near Vlaardingen to the A15 near Rozenburg.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
