For the transport of various bulk goods such as fertilizers, nepheline, soda, and limestone, Verbrugge Terminals commissioned the construction of a new quay gallery at its terminal in Terneuzen. This impressive structure, with a total length of 350 meters, is a crucial addition for the efficient handling of raw materials.
In this project, glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) was chosen due to its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, durability, and corrosion resistance.
Fiberstruct, in collaboration with Meyland and Staalmeesters, played a key role in the realization of this project. Fiberstruct was responsible for the production, delivery, and installation of solid GRP gratings (HLU). These gratings are an essential part of the quay gallery, which must withstand heavy loads and challenging conditions.
In addition to the gratings, Fiberstruct also designed and installed both indoor and outdoor staircases, complete with handrails. As expected, all elements were made entirely of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP).
The materials and products used meet the highest quality and safety standards, which is critical in a demanding environment like a port terminal, where constant heavy loads and exposure to harsh weather conditions are common.
With this project, Fiberstruct once again demonstrates its reliability as a partner in large-scale industrial projects. By focusing on high-quality products and custom solutions, we deliver a sustainable solution that is essential for the continuity and safety of the project.
